St. Tropez
Is exactly a 60 minute journey “out of season” or if you leave early enough in the morning. It is a great place for browsing and the harbour retains much of its charm: the tourist boat trip is good enough to give you a flavour of life on the open seas. There are some good beaches, like Tahiti Plage just outside town.

Monaco
The principality is less than an hour away (no passport required!) and the casino square is a great place to count the Ferraris and Aston Martins. The Oceanographic Institute is a wonderful aquarium and is a must see visit.

Les Gorges du Verdon
France’s answer to the Grand Canyon offers a lovely day trip through steep ravines, past waterfalls and via really pretty villages. Please ensure the driver is totally compos mentis for his/her time behind the wheel!

Valberg
If visiting “out of season” and skiing-minded this is the closest resort. It is c. 2hours away (less coming back) and is a decent family-friendly resort with skiing lessons, hire etc easily available. The resort is relatively low so if in doubt Isola 2000 is a better option and not much further away.
